1. General Warranty Statement

JDM East Coast Motors provides limited warranties on certain used automotive parts, subject to the terms and conditions outlined below.

All warranties apply only where expressly stated and are subject to strict compliance with installation, use, and inspection requirements.

All products not expressly covered by a warranty are sold AS-IS.

2. Professional Installation Requirement

ALL WARRANTIED PRODUCTS MUST BE INSTALLED BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC OR QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIAN.

Failure to comply with this requirement may void all warranty coverage.

JDM East Coast Motors does not provide installation guidance, mechanical advice, or fitment guarantees.

3. Warranty Coverage by Product Type

Unless otherwise stated on the individual product listing, warranty coverage is as follows:

Engines

  • 90-Day Start-Up Warranty on used general replacement engines

  • 90-Day Standard Warranty on regular used replacement engines

  • 30-Day Start-Up Warranty on used performance engines
    (including but not limited to VTEC, turbocharged, or high-compression engines)

Rotary Engines

  • NO WARRANTY on used rotary engines

  • Inspection or test videos may be provided upon request

Transmissions

  • 30-Day Mechanical Warranty on used replacement transmissions

  • NO WARRANTY on performance or racing transmissions

4. Warranty Scope & Limitations

Warranty coverage applies only to the primary mechanical function of the warranted component.

Warranty does NOT cover:

  • Labor, diagnostics, or installation costs

  • Removal or reinstallation expenses

  • Shipping or freight charges

  • Vehicle downtime or loss of use

  • Repairs performed without prior authorization

  • External accessories or components, including but not limited to:

    • Sensors

    • Gaskets

    • Electrical components

    • Accessories bolted to the engine or transmission

The purchase price represents the cost of the long block only (engine block and cylinder head) or transmission only, unless otherwise stated on the product page.

5. Warranty Void Conditions

Any warranty coverage is immediately void if:

  • The engine long block, cylinder head, or block is opened, dismantled, or replaced

  • The product is altered, modified, or disassembled

  • The failure results from:

    • Improper installation

    • Overheating

    • Oil starvation

    • Abuse, misuse, or neglect

    • Use in racing or off-road applications

6. Emissions & Legal Compliance

Some products sold may:

  • Not comply with emissions laws in certain states

  • Require reuse or transfer of original U.S. emissions components

  • Be intended for off-road or non-public highway use only

Compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations is the Customer’s responsibility.

7. Warranty Claims Process

To initiate a warranty claim:

  1. Contact JDM East Coast Motors before performing any repairs

  2. Provide proof of professional installation (invoice or receipt)

  3. Provide documentation describing the issue

Failure to follow this process may result in denial of the warranty claim.

8. Repair or Replacement Rights

At its sole discretion, JDM East Coast Motors reserves the right to:

  • Repair the product

  • Replace the product with a rebuilt or serviceable used part

Refunds are not guaranteed where repair or replacement is deemed appropriate.

9. No Labor or Consequential Damages

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES does warranty coverage include:

  • Labor costs

  • Vehicle downtime

  • Loss of income

  • Towing

  • Rental vehicles

  • Shipping costs

Warranty coverage is limited strictly to the product itself.

10. Warranty Transferability

All warranties are non-transferable and apply only to the original purchaser.

11. Relationship to Terms & Conditions

This Warranty Policy is subject to and incorporated into the Terms & Conditions of JDM East Coast Motors.

In the event of a conflict, the Terms & Conditions shall govern.

12. Governing Law

This Warranty Policy is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, including applicable provisions of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, where applicable.

14. Severability

If any provision of this Warranty Policy is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
