1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the East Coast Motors JDM website (the “Site”) and any purchase made through it.

By accessing the Site or placing an order, you (“Customer,” “you”) enter into a legally binding agreement with East Coast Motors JDM (“Company,” “we,” “us,” “our”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site or purchase our products.

2. Products Sold & Condition Disclosure

East Coast Motors JDM sells used automotive parts, including but not limited to:

  • Engines

  • Transmissions

  • Performance engines and drivetrain components

  • Other used automotive parts

Unless expressly stated otherwise on the individual product page, all products sold are USED.

ALL USED PARTS ARE SOLD “AS-IS,” EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY COVERED BY ANY LIMITED WARRANTY SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFIED BELOW OR ON THE PRODUCT PAGE.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, all implied warranties—including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose—are disclaimed, except where prohibited by law.

3. Product Origin & JDM Disclosure

Some products sold by East Coast Motors JDM are Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) imports, removed from vehicles originally manufactured for markets outside the United States.

Customers acknowledge that:

  • JDM parts may differ from U.S.-market equivalents

  • Modifications may be required for proper installation or compliance

  • Certain products may not be legal for use on public highways or emissions-controlled vehicles

It is the Customer’s responsibility to verify legality and compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.

4. Installation Requirement & Professional Use

A CERTIFIED MECHANIC OR QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIAN MUST INSTALL ALL PRODUCTS.

Any warranty may be voided if a product is installed, serviced, modified, or dismantled by an untrained or uncertified individual.

East Coast Motors JDM does not provide installation assistance, mechanical advice, or fitment guarantees.

5. Warranty Terms & Coverage

Warranty coverage varies by product type and is subject to the conditions below.

5.1 Warranty Durations

Unless otherwise stated on the product listing, warranty coverage is as follows:

Engines

  • 90-Day Start-Up Warranty on used general replacement engines

  • 90-Day Standard Warranty on regular used replacement engines

  • 30-Day Start-Up Warranty on used performance engines
    (including but not limited to VTEC, turbocharged, or high-compression engines)

Rotary Engines

  • NO WARRANTY on used rotary engines

  • Inspection videos may be provided upon request

Transmissions

  • 30-Day Mechanical Warranty on used replacement transmissions

  • NO WARRANTY on any performance transmissions

5.2 Warranty Exclusions

Warranty does NOT cover:

  • Labor, installation, or removal costs

  • Shipping or freight charges

  • Vehicle downtime or loss of use

  • Repairs or diagnostics

  • External accessories or components including:

    • Sensors

    • Gaskets

    • Electrical components

    • Accessories bolted to the engine or transmission

The purchase price represents the cost of the long block only (engine block and cylinder head) or transmission only, unless otherwise stated.

5.3 Warranty Void Conditions

Any warranty is void immediately if:

  • The long block, head, or engine block is opened, dismantled, or replaced

  • The product is modified or altered in any way

  • Failure results from improper installation, misuse, overheating, or modification

5.4 Repair or Replacement Rights

East Coast Motors JDM reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

  • Repair the product

  • Replace the product with a rebuilt or serviceable used part

Refunds are not guaranteed where repair or replacement is deemed appropriate.

6. Returns & Restocking Fees

  • Returns require prior authorization (RMA)

  • Returned items may be subject to a 25% restocking fee

  • Items must be returned in the same condition as received

  • Installed, modified, or damaged items are not eligible for return

Return shipping costs are the Customer’s responsibility.

7. Compatibility & Fitment Disclaimer

Products sold may be interchangeable with U.S. or international vehicles, in some cases with modifications.

Customers must:

  • Confirm compatibility with a certified mechanic prior to purchase

  • Verify engine/transmission codes and application

Errors in purchasing without prior research are the Customer’s responsibility.

8. Emissions & Legal Use Disclaimer

Some products sold:

  • May not comply with emissions laws in certain states

  • May require reuse or transfer of original U.S. emissions equipment

  • May not be legal for public highway use

Customers are responsible for verifying compliance with applicable laws.

9. Pricing & Availability

All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice. Inventory availability is not guaranteed until payment is completed.

10. Shipping & Delivery

Shipping terms, freight requirements, and delivery fees are disclosed at checkout or on the product page.

Customers are responsible for:

  • Accurate delivery information

  • Availability at scheduled delivery time

  • Additional charges caused by missed or failed deliveries

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Liability is limited to the purchase price of the product

  • East Coast Motors JDM is not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages

12. Intellectual Property

All website content, images, descriptions, and branding are the property of East Coast Motors JDM and may not be reproduced without written permission.

13. Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, including North Carolina General Statutes § 25-2 (UCC Article 2).

15. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or a purchase made through the Site shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.

17. Severability
